The specialist decided that due to my husbands age they would like to hold off on hip replacement for as long as possible. If with medications my husband could live with the pain and function somewhat normally, the replacement would not take place until the pain was too great.

My husband went on disability because of his injury and we found a great personal injury lawyer in Michigan who helped us to get a monetary settlement. It was enough money for my husband to go back to college and get a degree in engineering.

The drunk driver had no drivers license or insurance on the vehicle he was driving. Needless to say he had nothing that we could sue for. We ended up suing our own insurance company for the monetary damages. The drunk driver was only charged with driving without insurance and could only receive a year sentence in jail. We never heard if that sentence was carried out.
